Ask Dr. Kaiser Question: Sir....I have recently requested that my doctor add your product to my fight against HIV. I have been positive for 15 years. I am healthy and plan to stay that way. Many of my friends take your vitamin packets and swear by them, so you can imagine my enthusiasm in beginning this program. My problem thus far has been with my digestive system adjusting to something new. I tried various approaches,using small doses, taking with meals, more water, less water...some amount of discomfort persists. I do not know if any of my medications could be affecting this and my doctor does not know enough about your product to answer my questions. Any suggestions? Dr. Kaiser replies: Hello James. Thanks for your input. I have observed that individuals who have difficulty tolerating even the smallest doses of my vitamin formula (1-2 capsules 3x/day) are often experiencing a chronic infection with intestinal parasites. Intestinal parasite infections can exist "under the surface" for years at a time, and may cause symptoms during times of stress, poor diet, or when new foods or supplements are introduced. I strongly suggest that you download the "Intestinal Parasites" paper from the home page of this website and review it with you doctor. The testing is simple (3 samples collected over 3 days) but the treatment is often not so straightforward. The most common therapy using metronidazole (Flagyl) by itself is usually not completely effective at eradicating these organisms. If parasites are found, try to follow the instructions I have outlined in the paper (along with your doctor's participation, of course!) Also, don't forget to retest a month after the treatment to confirm that it worked. Thank you for your question and good luck! Check out our Message Board! |
